Simply Music Case Study
Lisa Morrall is a professional and successful singer. She already had a thriving 10 year career when she asked me for help to build her online presence.
When I asked her about her career, she explained she was at a point where she wanted to increase her commitment and accept more singing opportunities. And as a key part, wanted to build her professional presence online.
Building The Proposition
So my first step was to sit down with Lisa and understand more about her and what she offered for music events. It quickly became clear that she was able to tailor her musical performances as she offered a variety of musical styles from vintage to classic pop and even dressed in the style of the genre. Added to this using state of the art BOSE equipment. A brilliant start point as she had such a rich offer and thousands of loyal followers.
On researching the market, other websites appeared to be functional rather than bringing the performer to life. Lisa is a fantastic performer and her wonderful personality shines though when she sings. And her ability to sing in a number of musical genres and to dress in the style, makes each performance unique.
So I needed to build an overall proposition that encompassed Lisa’s versatility.
Lisa Morrall ‘Simply Music’ seemed ideal. Each musical style sits under this title….’Simply Jazz’, ‘Simply Disco’ etc. And a straightforward description of “a unique musical experience every time from soul to vintage and in between, tailored to your requirement for a fantastic event”.
Developing The Business Story
Lisa has a rich singing background, including growing up with a father who was a professional singer. I asked Lisa to go through her photos and videos as I knew this was the best way to show off her incredible singing ability. She also selected her favourite photo and I used this to have a character designed that she can use across marketing material. The colour scheme was important too, to depict her professionalism and distinctive look – using red, black, white and silver.
Her story wrote itself based on what Lisa has achieved. And the richness of her musical offer fitted under the platform of ‘Simply Music’. This extends to each musical genre having its own look and feel, to reflect Lisa’s versatility.
Overall I wanted a sleek, professional and simple look to the website. Lisa’s performance comes through in the photos used and her story, with the rest being the frame of her story.

Lisa has also taken the Simply Music theme and extended it across her social media platform as well as in the real world (banners and tshirts). Just brilliant!!
